AIMS OF THE COURSE
Health and Safety at work is the term used to describe controls intended to protect the welfare of people working and also of visitors and members of the public who are affected by work activities.
AIMS AND OBJECTIVES
The aim of the course is to increase student’s knowledge and awareness of the dangers associated with poor working practices and the legal, health and cost issues that can result from such practices. Students should also become aware of the implications of their own actions within the workplace.
The objective is that at the end of the course the student should have knowledge of and understand Health and Safety issues and is able to put this information to practical use within the workplace.
This course is run over 6 contact hours and is assessed via a multiple choice examination.
